Welcome back Babytime Friends!

Boy, did we “Rock the Cradle.” Thanks to those of you who stopped by. It was fun see so many babies and toddlers in one place. I had an absolutely FANTASTIC time!

I came across an article based on research done at the University of Minnesota’s Institute of Child Development (ICD) . I think it speaks to exactly what we are doing through our Babytime fun. Click on this link to view the article titled “Attachment: The Gift that Keeps of Giving.” Babytime is designed to help you find new ways to connect with your little one through books, songs, puppets and rhymes. It’s great to know we’ve been on the right track all along. I’d love to hear your comments.

Don’t forget I am now booking Booktime Birthday Parties for 2010. Call me at 651.442.9933 or email me at saraw@babytimefun.com to save your date. I will be booking only a few parties each month so don’t hesitate to contact me!

Also, plan to join me at the Red Balloon Bookshop at 10:30 on the 1st Saturday of every month, beginning in March (March 6th). I am thrilled to be returning to the Red Balloon to share Babytime with the community. Call 651.224.8320 for more information.

Check back as a new “Book Review” will be posted this week!

Happy Reading!

Fall or Winter?

3:11 am October 21st, 2009

Hello Babytime friends!

As the weather grows colder, grab your little one and snuggle in with a good book. You might tell a story with just the pictures, make up a song about the story, or let your baby tell the story (even if you can’t understand it all). Let the spirit move you and have fun connecting with your special little one.

I am doing a few programs here and there and will post before they happen. So check back for updates. I miss you all and look forward to our next Babytime together!

Smiles,

Sara

Don’t Miss and Update

5:02 am July 27th, 2009

Hello Babytime friends!

I have good news and bad news. First, the bad news.

Unfortunately, I will not be returning to my Babytime programming this Fall as I originally planned. I will be extending my sabbatical at least into the new year. I look forward to our next time together…and that brings me to the good news.

GOOD NEWS — I will be leading Babytime at the Red Balloon Bookshop on Tuesday, August 4th–10:15. I would love to see you and your baby that day!

Please share the good news and I’ll look forward to seeing you and your baby there!

Summer

5:04 am June 16th, 2009

Hello Babytime friends!

Wow! Time has flown by and I have missed you all. I know how fast babies grow so I hope you are enjoying every minute – even the tricky ones.

Don’t forget to pack books as you go out and about this summer. Summer brings many opportunities for sharing together- under a tree, at the park, on the beach, in line at a restaurant, in the car, on an airplane, etc. All those songs and rhymes can come in handy at these places, too.

Have a wonderfully fantastic summer and I look forward to seeing you and your baby again soon!

Changes

6:22 pm December 21st, 2008

Hello friends,

Warm wishes for a wonderful Holiday and Happy New Year!

I will be on leave from all my Babytime Fun activities until hopefully Fall 2009. My only remaining event is “Rock the Cradle” with Public Radio on Sunday, January 25 – 11am, 12pm, and 1pm. I’d love to see you there!

Please watch this site for updates. I am excited about this change of pace and will look forward to sharing new and improved ideas in the Fall.

Keep Reading Good Books!

Cozy Up Together!

4:53 am November 11th, 2008

Hello Friends!

As the cold weather is settling in around you, take time to cozy up with and good book a the little one(s) in your life. Baby brain research has shown that the connection made between caregivers and infants through touching, snuggling, reading, rhyming and singing makes brain pathways form quicker and better than with a fancy toy.

So not only will you create a lasting connection with your child, but you will be warm, happy and helping stimulate your baby’s brain in a positive way.

Happy reading (and snuggling)!
